Good Morning Lovelies,
Initially, my thoughts were the current situation would “force” people to come together by checking on your neighbors, forgetting the petty and reaching out to family and being kind to strangers.
(Although, we should be doing this anyway)
Do you think crisis make one reflect on what need to change and think about doing better? Society appear so divided and selfish with no one caring about anyone, but themselves.
Not everyone, but enough!
However, I was thinking if I’d have to recant my statement, because most social outlets have been closed. Social distancing being enforced keeping us from physical contact. Then, I thought about one of my sayings. Yes, I have another saying, “providence is laughing at me”🤣
Meaning: something I vowed not to do, but wasn’t left a choice. Something I was adamant about and had eat crow, lick my wounds, tuck my tail.....you get the 📸
You know, It didn’t exactly go my way🤷🏾♀️
I remember thinking, here go another Dessert Storm and how there will be another Baby Boom come nine months. Maybe, maybe not🤦🏾♀️
I remember thinking, 2009 would make our men stand stronger, believe in themselves, realize their worth or simply, do better. Providence🥱
IDK.... the energy change when things happen. I was in the store and this brotha was like, “hey ma” or “hey Sis”. The point is, people rarely speak like they use to. My experience....
I thought back when we’d go out to clubs or to cabarets and it was nothing to have someone buy you a drink just because, ask you to dance and say, “we not holding up no walls” or just acknowledge you because “I Am Woman”✊🏾
But, times have changed.....until, something happens and you’re forced to put things into prospective.
Do you think people come together more during crisis? Why does it take a catastrophe for some to realize we are better/stronger together than apart. To realize the little things keeping you apart aren’t so important. To understand we are more alike than not. To believe we all need someone. To have someone who has your back. To trust you’re not in it alone. To believe together we’ll get through this.
